Uniter Group Ltd, a leading provider of technical support solutions, has appointed Martin Chester as Operations Manager. He will be responsible for managing the company’s technical support resources including helpdesk, engineer call management, workshop and logistics.
Martin Chester started his career as a City and Guilds trained airframes mechanic at RAF Wattisham where he carried out second-line servicing for Phantom FGR2 and F4J aircraft. He has subsequently gained over twenty years’ commercial engineering and maintenance experience and joins direct from Hewlett-Packard CDS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard that provides a multi vendor service for HP customers. There, he supported high profile clients including Lloyds TSB and Aventis Pharmaceuticals and consistently achieved contracted service level agreements (SLAs) over a four year period.
Prior to this, he held Service Management positions with Compaq and Synstar, where he successfully completed an assignment as site supervisor for the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority supporting laptop, desktop, printer and server equipment.
As well as being a member of the British Computer Society and the Association of Project Managers, Martin Chester is ITIL Vers 2 qualified to manager level and Prince 2 practitioner qualified. He also holds a wide range of manufacturer accreditations including Compaq, HP, Dell and Microsoft Windows NT4.
